STATEMENT- The Chairman of KBP Calabarzon, Roy Bato, strongly denounces the vicious attack resulting in the tragic death of an independent radio broadcaster during a live program. The incident occurred as the broadcaster, known as Juan Jumalon or "Johnny Walker," was conducting his show on Gold FM 94.7 Calamba, Misamis Occidental wherein an unidentified assailant, pretending to make an urgent announcement, entered the announcer's booth and fatally shot Jumalon without any provocation. The distressing event was captured on video, where Jumalon was seen interacting with his listeners before the abrupt sound of gunshots silenced the room. The assailant also appeared to snatch a necklace from the victim after the shooting. The police in Calamba are actively investigating the motive behind this tragic killing and are searching for the individual responsible for this heinous act.
